Hey guys

So I found this card on eBay (Raw Grade) not knowing if it's Authentic or a reprint. I mean it's graded by Beckett and all but just want to make sure... I feel hesitant on purchasing it. Here is the item number

282478156606

Cheers

I would NEVER buy a raw graded card. If it was slabbed, I would be confident, but not raw graded. Too easy to damage, too easy to counterfeit.

And that is way underpriced for a card of that grade.

I took a look at the card.Does it not look like it has a couple large creases in it.Maybe it is in the plastic but I certainly would not buy that card based on the pictures that I looked at.Good luck if you do decide to buy it.

I also like that you have to have 20 feedback to make an offer but as the seller he is fine to only have 19.

I agree with Winston that it appears to have some creasing when you look at the full shot of the back through the words playing record.

Also, I am thinking the flash could have been turned off to make for better pictures.

If you're wondering about authenticity, I would say it is legit from that perspective. The cut and paper quality looks consistent with Gretzky rookies and with that era, and it has the yellow printing dot on the left shoulder of his jersey. It's not a first printing, but it is authentic, imo. BGS raw review wouldn't have "slabbed" if it wasn't either. Should you buy? Price is in the ballpark of what some have sold for. Get something that is already in the slab - PSA or BGS. I've got no issues with raw review, because all you have to do is send it in, but better to get one that is already in the slab.

If it don't feel right don't buy it. Trust your gut feeling, it's usually right. If you want a Gretzky buy one that you are sure about.
