@monfrair Cally to an Eastern team seems to be the implication. Could be more involved if I'm reading between the lines
Apparently this is the former football player and he's a Rags fan with connections to the team. Some members on another board said he called the Klein/Del Zotto trade before it was official, among other things.
People think it's Callahan because Girardi is close to signing. NYR would trade both if they can't sign them.
Fans suggesting Buffalo. A media member a while ago leaked out that apparently Buffalo wants a Callahan to lead the young Sabres team. The reporter was claiming that Buf would give him the 7 yeas 42 million that he wanted from the Rangers.
Other possibility are the Blue Jackets. Rumored that they liked him and were scouting the Rangers a lot the past few games before the break. It would have to be pending extension though as Davidson said no rental players. Larry Brooks was thinking to himself that the Rangers could have interest in Atkinson, a former teammate of Kreider. I would be pissed if Atkinson is part of the package but would have no issues with Callahan. Other fans would be pissed if they got him though(too many players like him), would be pissed with the money he would get, and more pissed if Atkinson was the cost.
