Hi all,

I just noticed that Calle Rosen has only 1 autograph out there from last years Artifacts. It was a redemption and sticker autograph. He has no other autos in any release from last and this year.

This is very odd to me since rookies seem to sign thousands of cards. Seems like Rosen only signed 150 (that's what the card is numbered too, maybe a few more for stock)?

Are there any other rookies from the last few years in the same boat? Not saying Rosen is the next Bobby Orr but could his auto jump if he plays well?

I don't think there is any rule that says rookies have to sign for UD. With the volume they (typically) do - my guess is that that PA encourages them to do it, at least.

I'll make up a hypothetical..... UD does those Rookie Redemption cards. It's easy. Make the codes now, pick the players later. Every team will have a Rookie. Right?

Leafs only had two eligible players for RCs in 2017-18: Rosen & Borgman. Have to get one of them to sign for that redemption... and were able to talk Rosen into doing it. At $2 a pop (or whatever they get paid) he no interest in signing a full slate of autos though.

Borgman, interestingly enough, has autos.... but only in The Cup. Both made their debuts in October - so it does look a little weird.

I would assume that yes, there's plenty of guys over the years that have only one or two signed cards.

If he attended the Rookie Photo Shoot before Training Camp - I do believe that the players do sign some labels at that point but after that, if there's no deal - that is probably it for the supply. ie. See Tarasenko - he had autos in Trilogy I believe and that was it until a couple of years back when he finally signed his outstanding autos.

Probably just doesn’t want to sign. Players are encouraged too once they step on the ice and officially become part of the NHLPA, but don’t have to do it. I suppose it was a one-and-done type thing at least for now. Hoping you can snag one of those Artifacts autos!
