Can ITG "repair" cards?

Hi all,

The last two cards that I've purchased from that have come in for my PC have had factory flaws. The first one was a Stick Save Silver /9 in which the stick piece had completely separated from the card. The second is a 09-10 ITG Heroes and Prospects Jumbo Emblem Gold 1/1 that has the top layer of the card separating from the bottom. Any idea if these can be repaired/reassembled/reglued by ITG, or has anybody inquired before?

Jeremy brought up a good point about the stick cards...just glue them yourself and save time and hassle. The other card needs some attention from ITG's CS department.

I was told they can't fix them. I had a BTP McElhinney that came apart at the corner. All I wanted was it glued back together.

Yeah, the Stick Save isn't too big an issue. It should be relatively easy to put back together, more just a matter of findig the right kind of adhesive.

The 1/1 Jumbo Emblem is a little more tricky. It's a clean separation, no creasing or damage to the top layer. It appears as though the bulge fro the patch just caused the separation, likely due to a lack of adhesive in that one spot. I'd have no problem putting some adhesive in the space, but I can't think of how I'd do it without a needle of some sort. It's quite disappointing, since it's a PC card, and a 1/1 to boot.

Rob, at spring expo 2009 I spoke to Dr. Price about the layer seperation on cards. He said that they usually just suggest the person who has the card find an adhesive (can't remember if he mentioned a specific type) and using a tooth pick apply it in between the layers. Sandwich the card between something that will protect it and then put a heavy book or books on top and leave it like that for a day or two so the adhesive has time to dry. Hope that helps.

Thanks. I'll drop Dr Price a line and see if he can advise on what adhesive I should use. I never thought of the toothpick idea.

I contacted ITG about a card separation around the patch cut out window, the top layer of the card was completely separated from the rest of the card, obviously because ITG uses some beauty thick patches. It was an Ultimate card, they asked me to mail it back, and I believe it only took 8 business days and it was back in my hands in perfect shape. The card is still together, so whatever they did worked. Not sure if this is normal practice for them, but my one experience was handled quickly and I am very happy with it.
