Okay, I'm still not sure of the reason for this but;

04-05 UD Legendary Signatures auto Frank Mahovlich #/41 BV = $350
04-05 UD Legendary Signatures Summit Superstars auto Frank Mahovlich #/48 BV= $200

07-08 UD The Cup Stanley Cup Signatures Frank Mahovlich #/25 BV= $60
07-08 UD The Cup Enshrinements Dual auto Mahovlich/Sittler #/25 BV= $60
Is this caused by people building those sets and driving up the price on the SP's?
Why the huge difference, sure would appreciate someone shedding a little light on this.

Thanks.
Dan.

Bingo. Or what's what I would think anyway.

Probably because Beckett hasn't updated the prices on the 04/05 autos.

Actually those are reasonable numbers based on sales. In fact several Mahovlich Summit autos did well over that. Set builders drove the price way up on all the Legendary Sigs autos.

Thanks for the info guys, i figured it was the set builders. It just seems odd that a card with 16 more in circulation would cost more than the lower #rd. card, almost 6 times more.
Thanks.
Dan.

The BVs for 07-08 The Cup were pretty low in a number of the subsets, some as much as 50% less than the previous year for the same player and subset. An 06-07 Cup Foundations Ovechkin books $100, but the 07-08 version books $50.

I would also think that repetition would play into this. What I mean is since there are several sets used in all three The Cup releases, it might make demand on the newer versions lesser than a set which has only appeared once and has tons of SP's like those Legendary Sigs sets...if all that makes sense.

I can speak for these two:
04-05 UD Legendary Signatures auto Frank Mahovlich #/41 BV = $350
04-05 UD Legendary Signatures Summit Superstars auto Frank Mahovlich #/48 BV= $200

I know the Summit superstars set was extremely widely collected. I pulled the Mikita /93 or something like that and sold it on the spot for $130 about a year after release.

The base legendary signatures set was also highly collected. the SPs were super tough to pull especially the low numbered ones such as the Mahovlich.

hope that helps,
Nick

The sets from Legendary Signatures were highly collected - in a year where there was a lockout - this was one of the few challenges that many collectors could undertake that year. And anytime you can incorporate a Team Canada 72 theme into one set, and a widely collected auto set in another - it will result with good prices being realized

as the 07-08's were recently released,i would imagine the 04-05 supplies have probably dried up some as well. that'd be another cause for the consistent high #'s.

I have the Legendary Sigs autos and can vouch for the value. I know I could sell mine for near that price in a heartbeat.
