Here's something to not be very proud of: tsn.ca Olympics LINK

Canada's water polo team was hammered by Montenegro 12-0 in Olympic preliminaries Monday night.

The loss was the second in a row for Canada, which fell 16-6 to Spain on Sunday.

Canada and Montenegro are relatively new entries to the event.

The Canadians haven't participated in the Games since 1984, while Montenegro is making its Olympic debut.

Canada next plays Australia on Wednesday.

The Canadian Squad now has the dubious distinction of being the only Olympic team to ever be shut out in water polo..

It doesn't bode well for them as they face Australia today (12 Aug).... :o

Apparently they were a "second week kind of team" -- 18 medals.

Considering Canada's medal-to-population ratio was higher than the U.S. or China, I'm not sure what the complaining is about.

All in all it was a reasonably good outing for the Canadians - just imagine what we could do if we actually gave our athletes reasonable funding rather than them having to do everything they can to scrape by on their own.
