Canada vs The World?

Not to sound snarky about it but is it just me or do a lot of ITG's designs look similar?

The design department is probably the biggest issue to me with ITG right now. Absolutely no innovation happening in that area at all. As much as I enjoyed the feeling of perceived value with Decades, at the end of the day the designs were just more of the same.

Time to leave the plain paper printing with monochrome colors behind for some foil, die cutting, different materials, different size/shape swatch cutouts etc. They can still use the tried and true stuff as well but not for every single card of every set produced.

Same here... I love what ITG is doing but it kinda pains me to see that what more they could be if they tweaked their designs regardless if they have a license or not.

Not only are the designs similar from year to year, but it feels as though designs are the same from product to product with a few exceptions.

While I recognize the limitations they're working with...I have to agree. There's a lot of sameness in ITG stuff. I find myself having to look carefully two or three times at a card DESPITE the listing or scan just to be sure of what I'm seeing.

And that stuff they used for the Masked Men this year? That needs to be on MORE CARDS.

I agree. The Emeralds prove that this company can do completely new, attractive things. So, let's get on that. In the mean time, I will continue to buy more of the sameness, because the sameness is superior to redemptions, damaged cards, bad CS, and other non-same things.

I will happily admit ITG is my preferred company for cards.

But their designs are pretty much the same throughout. I know they're working with limitations, but even without using any logos they could desgin something better, or at least, different.

No one is saying the designers at ITG are doing a bad job. Far from it. Just something new would be much appreciated. I know I've sent a few designs over to Dr. Price before so I could get his feedback, in what may have been a Pipe Dream moment.

I never understood this "sameness" complaint. Of course products will look similar across brands from a company. They are influenced by the culture of the company. If you take the logos off cards from Panani, UD, ITG, Topps etc you would be able to match the design to the company.

Having said that, of course ITG could/should improve their designs. Make them more flashy, etc. But having a unique feel to their designs isn't such a bad thing

Yep it looks like ITG. That means desing looks like they did it, memoribilia looks like it's game used. Bad? no.

It's like music, some people seem to think it's bad albums sound like one another. But look at metallica, what happened when they stopped sounding like themselves? :giggity:

I can find similarities from every brand. Bad? no. That's their brand.
