What with the 'Canes loss this evening... The Cap's are vaulted into 3rd in the East.. Who'd have thunk it? :whatthehell:

The Canes have more wins, so if the Crapitals get just one single point (aka tie in regulation) then they will have more points than the Canes, thus in the playoffs.

NHL TV says the Caps need a win or OT loss to get in...they probably have them in the 3rd spot because they have a game left and the Canes are done.

First tie breaker is number of games played, so that technically puts them in 3rd for now.
