Surprised there hasn't been talk of this already in Hobby Talk. Check out this post in the game-worn forum:

A number of fairly well-known memorabilia dealers busted for selling fake gamers, many of which went to card companies for use in cards. They would beat up and scuff the jerseys to make them look like they were used in games then provide fake LOA's.
Doesn't say which companies but it should be pretty unsettling to memorabilia card collectors. People have doubted UD's memorabilia for years but what if Panini bought from them? Or even ITG? I wonder if card companies will come forward and admit if they bought from these sources or not now that such information is out there.
Discouraging news for collectors for sure.
