Hi y'all. Need help & advice, dont post too often but didnt know what to do.
Well anyways probaly 6 months ago i bought a dual shield of Roman Horak & Lance Bouma from a seller in Alberta on eBay. Recieved the card everything cool. Fast forward to a couple days ago i list the card on eBay. Right away im informed by an eBay seller that he has the COA card to my card and that he'd sell it to me for $50, and that without the COA my shield is worthless (different seller than who i bought the shield from).

I ask him where he got it and how the cards got seperated & why. Answer was very vague that he bought it from a seller at the toronto show (wouldnt say who).

I contact the seller i bought the shield from asking about the situation, he says when he won the card from C&C that they never sent him the COA card. I move on to ask C&C and they said the sent him the COA card.

??????? so confusing i feel like someone was waiting for the shield to pop up too exploit the person into buying the COA. Im leaning towards believing C&C due to how large they have become.

here is the COA card on eBay:

thanks everyone

Seriously, if someone REALLY wants that card, the COA won't matter. I would list it anyways and see how it goes. I mean, is anyone really worried that someone could possibly fake a card of that caliber? No offense, but especially of those 2 guys, lol.

yeah i was thinking the same thing, i didnt even realize that these cards had COA cards. anyways good on the guy for trying to get big money for the COA from me. Crazy stuff.

Ya, you have just as much bargaining power as he does. If you don't want to pay for the COA, he's never going to sell it to anyone else... who would buy it?

I'm with the poster above though... the COA on a card like this is meaningless. I think the only time a separate COA is desired is if it's a buyback card.

If you contact Upper Deck and then send them a scan of the card they will replace it for $25(I believe this was the price)

$1000 for a COA card? Hockeyrulz15 has a great idea. If it can done for $25, I'd definitely go for it. Why would someone buy a useless COA from a seller? Makes no sense to me, so I call BS.

i may go that route for $25, thanks for the idea Hockeyrulz15 !

its a shame though that the hobby is like this sometimes. To seperate the cards and then have it for $1000 or best offer. Happy holidays to everyone :-)

Shield card without COA card...worth $$$
COA card without shield card...worthless

The guy is a tool

Abso-freaking-lutely.

That guy has that ish backwards. The shield should have the hologram with the Serial number on it, so if someone were really worried about it they could contact Upper Deck about it.

If it were me I would spend the $25 to get a new certificate from Upper Deck, and then contact the moron and show him what you got. Just out of spite.

Lol, the item ended, did you cave and buy it? I want some of that cabbage he's puffin! :dizzy:

Seller has some great cards. Even a Justin Beiber auto!!!

I find it weird the seller is from Barrie like me, and they also has a Justin Bieber auto for sale on ebay! :duh:

I'm selling my daughter's Beebs auto for her so she can buy a new pageant dress. Really, I am! It's not mine! Honest! :D

At least you can buy hers for half that amount, and it's even numbered out of /99. Does Barrie, Ontario have the market cornered on ole Beebs ink? I'll have to ask Dan, and Wayne if they have one? I'll bet they do!!!

Oh and $5 shipping? Ouch!!

The question would be to ask anyone who has won something from CNC if they got there COA with a 1/1? CNC would take a major hit if this was indeed a habit and had anything to do with getting extra profit from something already won.Very bad business and I would be very surprised if this was the case.

CNC says they sent it and the guy you bought the card from says he never got it......Someone is not telling the truth? Could there be a link with the new seller of the COA and the seller you bought it from? When was the COA listed? When Was your 1/1 listed?

All questions that could shed light. Why would someone sell a COA only????

I never draw to conclusions without the facts, good luck
