Carolina Smacketh Down the Caps

Anybody else catch this game? The Canes totally outplayed the Caps.

Ovechkin played a great game, but Cam Ward pretty much shut him down... and nobody else chipped in.

That Eric Staal guy is having another good game (1g-3a). That gives him 5g-3a on the 4 game season.

The down side is that Cam Ward's value will soon be stratospheric

It's real nice to see Staal play so well, and hopefully everyone at my office that says he is the next Brian Savage is wrong

Staal is playing great. The full year of development in the AHL certainly has helped him... just like Spezza. I've watched 3 of their 4 games on TV so far and every one of them was exciting.

On a related note...
Why is it that every other team lights up the Caps... and the Rangers struggle to score 2 goals against them. Guess we can thank Lundmark for the "gift" goals the other night.

I picked Staal to have the biggest breakout season this year. I tried to get him in every hockey pool I'm in.

I can't understand WTF is going through the minds of the Capital players! Maybe they do in fact need Semin to return! Or barring that! For the defense to come to play every game!

Well... in the Caps defense, Jeff Halpern didn't play tonight.

The Rangers handed them the game on Monday (thanks to Jamie Lundmark)... moreso than the Caps coming to play that day.

It's disappointing to watch the Caps because Ovechkin is out there playing his heart out... and nobody is following his example.

Man, I was supposed to be going to that game!!! Ill be at their practive tomorrow morning though!!!
I managed to get Cam ward to sign his H&P card, a puck, and the opening night mini stanley cup across the past few weeks. Real Nice guy!!!! Great to the kids and fans!! Ill be after all of his cards when they hit.

Haha....a bit off topic here since you mentioned getting Cam to sign his H&P card. I have the auto version of it, and see that one just sold on the bay for $50.....is this card a short-print, or was the buyer just uninformed?
