I know I don't post on here often but this really ticked me off. I wish I could leave feedback on ebay as soon as I get something or someone pays me but I'm so busy that it may take me a month to finally post feedback. This buyer hounded me 3 times this past week about leaving him his feedback. Finally, I had a chance to and I also replied to his last message....

"I'm sorry I didn't leave feedback for you as prompt as you would like. Between doing this, working my job 55 hours a week and taking care of a sick child who hasn't gotten too much better in the last month and doing all of this and being a single dad, I'm sorry there are more important things in life that padding your sterling feedback. You are blocked as a buyer and hopefully you find something more interesting in life to do than monitor your feedback rating."

OK, got it off my chest. Now, hopefully for the first time in over a month, I can sleep til 11 since I don't work til 2 tomorrow afternoon.

I don't understand how it could take that long to leave feedback? You can do a bulk load in under 5 minutes if you don't individualize each one. Just use something generic and copy/paste. Not having time is a lame excuse when you had the time to list the cards for sale.

This.

Even though I don't really care about feedback received from sellers, just as long I get my item. I do care about higher end items as a seller, just to know that everything went smoothly. Then I also do leave feedback (bulk mostly - depending on how many sales I have at the same time) when I've received payment and be done with it.

wow, I can see a dif of opinion from what looks like a sellers point
of view and a buyers point of view......

just my thoughts...

Yeah, it's relatively painless this way and also how I go about it.

If you're THAT busy......I wouldn't be buying or selling stuff on ebay if I were you.

To not have one spare minute in a month?

And yes, there are more important things in life and yes it might not seem like that big of a deal, but if you're going to sell on ebay, I think you should be responsible for all aspects of your end of the transaction.....and that includes feedback.

I assume you don't wait a month to send off the card?

I think you guys are missing the point.... WHO CARES.

There's no point hounding a seller/buyer for feedback, one reminder message and be done with it.

I don't even bother with a message. I leave my feedback, if the other party can't be bothered so be it. My only exception is for a high-end sale. I'll send a message asking if they got the card and if they're happy with it, but I never mention feedback. I only care that they're happy with what they got.

When I did sell on EBAY, I didn't leave feedback until the buyer left feedback. My opinion, buyers are way too lazy and have it way too easy on EBAY anymore, and since a seller can't leave anything but positives anymore, you don't get a positive until you leave me one. Most of the buyers only here won't like that stance, but it is what it is. You can thank EBAY and their ridiculous policies for it.

The way I see it since a seller can't leave a negative, why not just leave feedback as soon as payment is received? If they are gonna write something nasty, then they are going to write something nasty.

Back to the original topic, yes hounding someone three times for feedback sounds like a needy person. But it takes ten seconds to leave one, so you should of left feedback the first time he asked.

The reason I wait as a seller to leave feedback is so that my feedback reflects the entire transaction. How many scams are there where people claim a card is not received 3 days after payment. If you wait to leave feedback you can make a comment about the chargeback to warn future sellers. Feedback is for the entire transaction which is not done until the card is received.

With respect to the OP, I have to agree with a lot of the sentiments on here. You can't tell me that you are so busy to not take a minute to leave feedback on the transaction. This is part of the ebay system, if you can't do something this simple, you shouldn't be selling on ebay.

Bingo, well said.

I really don't want to pile on you here but you said he hounded you 3 times this past week... so clearly you were on the computer and/or email and/or ebay or whatever.

If you can't spare 30 seconds, selling on ebay and posting on a message board probably shouldn't be on your list of things to do.

Anyways, good luck with everything.

That does make sense...figuring you really can't trust anyone these days, unfortunately. On my higher end items I will make sure I do this..thanks.

When I receive payments on eBay, I mark my items as shipped and immediately leave feedback. This makes things much easier for me. If you're short on time, instead of having to go back LATER and leave feedback, why not do it right after you prepare the shipment? If you have time to put the card in a bubble mailer and bring it to the post office, you surely have time to type 3-4 words as well
