Champ's Hockey - First Look!

There may have been others stripped from the checklist along the way, but at the very least, the last checklist (wishlist?) on magazine-exchange had these guys who are not on the UD checklist:

Prime example of why this product will never be Ginter reborn in hockey. Its the same autos you find in all their other hockey product, with a sprinkling of velociraptors Shannon Elizabeth and Jennifer Tilly. Sad.
 
I didnt find carrie that hot, she was nice but not nice enough for me to keep talking about.... just bummed they couldnt get Downie to sign ...ugh...
 
Les Stroud?? Seriously?? Sweet! I am a huge fan of 'Survivor Man' and would love to get ahold of one of these. Wonder how low the numbers of the sp's will be.

They need to sign a contract with Eddie Van Halen, or get some of his guitar picks. I think a whole music set with stage used picks, auto's would be awesome

Aside from the raptor teeth, most of the other dinosaur stuff is there.

What's really missing are those 4 trilobites. Which is no great shakes. Have you ever seen a trilobite fossil?!? Then imagine cutting it up. People won't even know what they're looking at, let alone being able to distinguish between the varying species.

What's a real shame are the triceratops vertebrae. They do keep SOME dinosaur stuff thought (but how much really?). Someone must have realized that dinosaur bones aren't necessarily "ice age" (worst product tag line ever - Where the Ice meets the Ice age???) and loaded up on the Aurochs and wolly mamoths, which are ice age.

With what they have, I really don't know how they are planning to fill up 1 per case on a average print run of 4000+ cases....
 
I really really wanted to bust some boxes of this stuff... but I had a closer look at the checklist and the setup of everything...

I wrote a whole rant, made critical points... but now I'm just depressed.

This... "product"... seeds like artifacts, costs like SPA and will see MVP secondary market values.

Whoever said that this is UD attempt at a Allen & Ginter rip off... you are way way wrong. This is more like an Allen & Ginter parody set from the likes of Mad Magazine....
 
Not a fan at all of this product. I just want to see hockey when busting hockey product.For those who like all types of cards,this might be a nice set
 
Initially I was really looking forward to this product. Not so much anymore. And yes, the lack of Rush autos play a huge role in my new found disdain for Champs.
