come on now.. You call that a fight?? A lot worse happened last year in the finals Malkin left the ice no pads or Jersey .. No suspension.. Playoff Hockey..
 
After letting Malkin off the hook in the finals last year the weren't about to slap Chara with a suspension. You can bet the Bruins brought that up also!

And couldn't Miller be tossed for leaving the crease. Seems like the NHL handled it pretty well. Let the teams decide the series.
 
Gaustad whacked him first - that's what prompted the reaction from Chara. That's why he wasn't going to be suspended
 
WHAT!! A suspension , are you kidding , when did hockey become ballet! Good little dust up to end the game , get the fires burning for Game 6 , thats the beauty of the game.
 
The right call was made. If you want chara to be suspended what about the 3rd and 4th man in for buffalo?

Pffft, they needed at least 3 or 4 just to slow down the black and yellow tank.

I say we allow all 6 to fight against Chara. That way it would be a fair fight.....



It was a post-whistle quarrel, not a late-game beatdown. I saw the article and was like "wth? There was a fight at the end?"

100% agree! Gaustad was the one starting this mess and all the others attacking Chara at that point should have been given suspensionif anyone! If you ask for a fight then be ready to fight! But one guy at the time! Not 3 to 1!
This "saga" will continue in next game...I hope!

Let's not act like Chara is some innocent victim here. The whole series, he's been taking runs at smaller guys like Tyler Ennis, Nathan Gerbe and Tim Kennedy.

Well if You check again from YouTube what Gaustad was doing so you will see that he hit with his stick to Chara´s ankels from behind! When you do things like that...you deserve to get a punch on the face for sure!

And when Chara takes a run at anyone in NHL, he takes a run at smaller guy!
I have been connected with ice hockey since 1972 when I started my goalie "career" and I am still 6 days a week coaching goalies, so I do have a strong opinions about hockey and especially when it comes to cheap tricks from behind! Hitting someones ankels with a stick or even trying is something that does not fit into any league!

When Gerbe was back in Portland for a short, no pun intended, time during the AHL playoffs he was saying Chara could get you from across the ice.. his speed is what he uses to avoid the big collisions..
 
Thats right, message sending is permitted unless you are a Flyer, then its not permitted.
