Does anybody have any feedback on Checkoutmycards.com? I found a David Clarkson Cup plate on there that I would like to put an offer on, but want to know if it is worth my time.

Thanks,
Eric

Hey Eric,
I had the same question a while back. I would consider them reliable. Only purchased off them once, but very low shipping costs, and easy to sign up for and pay. Good luck.

i actually had a different buying experience..i was told how cheap there shipping was so i spent 6 hours putting jordans into a cart i needed..total came to right under 560 dollars...shipping was the surprise..68 dollars...and they came in a box with 8.90 postage costs lol

Yea, the premise sounds great at first, everyone sends the cards they want to sell to one central location so you can have cards from all over the place sent to you all at once. Normally you like doing this because you save on shipping, but you don't. That's actually how the site makes money off of you.

It's still a nice way to find some older cards or things you wouldnt find elsewhere, just not as good a deal as it seems at first.

I disagree with the last two posters - the shipping is X.XX + 0.25 for every other card after the first - giving the number of cards that they have, I think it's fair to pay them for that amount of work. Just take 25 cents off your offer (per card) to offset that cost to you.

I do have problems with the speed of their shipping, but I have placed 6 orders of 40+ cards and am very happy with the rest of the service I've received.

It's not that simple to say take 25 cents off your offer though. They limit what kind of offer you can make and there's no way to contact a seller to negotiate.

Maybe I just havent ordered enough cards at once to validate the shipping charge...

That is true - some sellers do have themselves marked at "5,10,15, etc% off maximum allowed offers" and such, but I was chasing a bunch of 08-09 OPC Retros, I had a price in mind that I wanted to pay for each one, I offered 0.25 less on each one, and all that I offered to, took my offer. Those who had any type of blocks on offers didn't make any money, those who are reasonable and willing to work with a buyer made money.

It's still better than eBay in many cases, but every person is going to get different things out of it, I WOULD like a way to contact a seller.

They (COMC) have also had shipping specials (and may again for black friday) where shipping is 0.10 instead of 0.25 per card - sometimes, it's worth waiting for the cards to save the money.

[I am NOT a seller on the site, but at various times, I have considered sending a 550 count down there and see how it goes]

I decided to give it a shot. I found a David Clarkson Cup Plate on the site. Should be arriving next week.

Thanks for the input!

I used them to fill some want lists. Besides the cards being on the higher price scale, the transaction was perfect in every way and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I think they are a great asset to the hobby.

Maybe they've changed shipping costs for the better - My charges were very acceptable and that was about 2 months ago.

The absolute best site out there for filling set and lower end wantlists. Shipping is more than reasonable and the service I've had is always top notch from them.

I met these guys at the show up in Vancouver in March and have started using them a fair amount for both buying and selling.

I belive that since this thread was started that they have revamped their shipping charges as well but, as Kevin stated earlier, charging $0.25 is reasonable enough for me when figuring they need the staff to collect the cards out of a warehouse filled with over a million cards.

At this time - the benefit of the site is for the set builders and collecting a number of cards without having to pay $3-4 shipping per card. There are certainly some good deals to be found but, like everywhere, there are some cards that are priced well out of range as well.

I use them for a few purchases. I leave the cards build up in my account and ship them when I get a bunch. A little expensive to ship, but when you consider I would have to pay shipping from a bunch of different sellers for the same cards on most other sites, it seems to be worth it.
