Class eBay seller...........NOT

I was doing a favor for Heather (hrad_23) and helped her buy a box of cards through my account (I called it a gift to the seller). Well I asked the seller to please ship to Heather's addy in New Mexico. Well he sent it here to Indiana instead. Here are our subsequent conversations, starting with me asking what's up (or something like that):

Hey thanks for nothing!! I asked you in the paypal payment to please send
to an address in New Mexico because this is a gift. I also emailed you to
confirm this. Now I have to repackage and pay shipping again! Thanks alot!

Now his response:

A-HOLE. Sorry I missed it. I don't even look at the Paypal payments. I work though the MY EBAY section and see only that it has been paid and ship to the registered eBay address. You might have emailed me directly? A-HOLE. Why don't we just exchange negative feedback like the whining sissy you appear to be? Jerk

And then 6 hours later without me replying, he sends this:

You whining *******! The eBay PAYMENT DETAILS shows me NOTHING in regards
to shipping this Anywhere other than to you. Kiss my ***, you ****ing
idiot.
LOOK BELOW ...... and show me whare it says ship elsewhere. *******.

Well on the copy he sent me there was nothing about me asking to send it to Heather. But this is what I received when I paid and I forwarded it him:

Well now I can't wait to get home from work and see what he says now .

Although you were doing someone a favor... I never ship to any address other than the Paypal address. As a seller, you're just asking for trouble by not shipping to the confirmed Paypal address.

That said... he's a jerk for using such language/tone in a simple inquiry.

Observations:
1) I don't think you needed to get shirty with him. He didn't see it, or was being cautious. Either way, was there any real harm done by having the item shipped to you instead? No.

2) His response was inexcusably rude.

3) I've bought a few things for customers in the USA, and I have always asked the seller before paying if they would mind sending to the US address directly - saves a border crossing and potential extra charges. If they agree, I email them the address, and ask for insurance as well as DC. I ask them to confirm the address I sent, then I pay. Done this a number of times, nary a hitch. A couple of sellers have told me "No" for the reasons Jay outlines - and that's completely ok.

I have to many sellers not willing to send to me here in never never land. I wanted to rip some wax while here just to boost my spirits. Don't want to do card shops because they are always higher than ebay.

As a few others have noted, however, I never ship to an address other than the registered Paypal address. Just asking for problems.

I'd make a note not to buy from this guy again, he seems a bit of a dink.

Sounds like a bad ebayer with the name calling & no I would say he is more to blame. He could of replied sorry I didn't see the message & then let it go. I wouldn't reply back to him if he has sent you another nastygram not worth the aggravation.Just my two cents.

I have shipped to alternate addresses in the past. As long as I get my money, I don't care where the package goes
