Hey all, hope everyone had a great Holiday season and New Year's. With the calendar changed to 2015, I had a bit more success in December before that happened and figured I should share them so I can turn the page and prepare to start it all over again. Enjoy...

12/13 ITG Motown Madness Motown Quads Gold #MQ02 Fall Expo 2014 Nicklas Lidstrom/Chris Chelios/Larry Murphy/Chris Osgood 1/1
This came from an HIer I hadn't dealt with before, our own Bill Sadoo. Bill got this from the Fall Expo and, figuring I'd be interested, was nice enough to look me up and offer it to me. He was correct - I was. We were pretty much on the same page in terms of price and quickly came to a deal. Thanks Bill...

13/14 ITG Decades 1990s Game Used Patches Black #M20 Fall Expo 2014 Larry Murphy 1/1
Continuing the theme of Expo show-stamped cards, this one came from Ebay.

13/14 ITG Decades 1990s Game Used Patches Gold #M20 Fall Expo 2014 Larry Murphy 1/1
From another Joe, memoriesonice on Ebay. This was listed with a pretty high BIN/OBO, so I tried to use the offer system but was autodeclined each time. That suggested to me that we weren't in the same ballpark in terms of where we respectively thought the price should be, but on a whim, I messaged Joe to find out where his bottom dollar was. I'd purchased from him before (all Murphy, duh
) and he saw I was a collector from my purchase history with him, so he gave me a bit of a discount from his bottom dollar off Ebay. Still probably more than I should've paid, but it's a nice 3-color patch and I wanted to have it. It's the perfect companion piece to my legit Decades gold 1/1 patch, and in the eternal "show cards vs. no show cards" debate, y'all know where I stand. Say what you will about his prices, but "memoriesonice" was more than pleasant to deal with.

12/13 ITG Draft Prospects Onyx #118 Larry Murphy 1/1
From cloutsnchara on Ebay. Officially puts 12/13 ITG Draft Prospects to bed for me. Again, probably more than I should've had to pay (damn offer system
) but it's a 1/1 and I don't expect these Onyx 1/1s pop up very often, so I decided to pony up and grab it while I could.

04/05 ITG Franchises US East Autographs #ALMU2 Spring Expo Larry Murphy
From COMC, as you can probably guess from the picture. Thanks to HI's dahabsfan Darren for pointing this out to me. I check COMC fairly regularly but hadn't yet when this one was listed. Darren gave me the heads-up in case I needed it, and a quick scan of my Flickr site confirmed that indeed I did. I think I had every show-stamped variation of Murphy's Franchises autos except for this one. Not too often that I find a certified auto I need, and Murphy's Caps era is fairly underrepresented in my PC, so this was a nice surprise and a no-brainer for a roughly $5 offer. Thanks Darren...

81/82 O-Pee-Chee #148 Larry Murphy RC Autograph 15
On the subject of autos, a signed Murphy OPC RC from Ebay was the card that originally got me on this autograph (and later PC) voyage, so I have a soft spot for his signed RCs (both OPC and Topps) and try to pick them up for the right price when I can. Winning this on Ebay for a $4 offer was definitely the right price.
Where there's smoke, there's sometimes fire, so I asked the seller if he had any other signed Murphy stuff. He only mentioned one:

83/84 O-Pee-Chee Stickers #298 Larry Murphy Autograph
Not the most common of stickers in its own right. Finding a signed copy? You do the math. Had to have it, and bought it for the same $4.
Saving the best for last, I will end with my Boxing Day pickup:
Murphy has 18 cards in this year's Artifacts. Prior to this, I was stuck at 10, the most limited of which was a dual patch /36 with Markus Naslund. In terms of solo cards, the most limited card I'd found was his jersey/patch /75. Until this little beauty...

14/15 Artifacts Black Material #7 Larry Murphy 1/5
This card is a milestone - my first tag card - and what a tag and patch, with 3 colors on each. The price I ended up agreeing to was a little more than I would've preferred based on comparable sales, so I guess I could've tried waiting it out. But the way this stuff is seemingly being lightly broken, I didn't foresee another copy showing up on the horizon anytime soon. Maybe I'll be proven wrong on that point, but for someone who has a fairly limited GU field to choose from compared to many players and tries for the best copies when and where possible, this copy is probably as good as I could hope or ask for. So after a few offers, I got the seller down as far as it seemed they would go, ponied up and ended my year on a big note with it.
Thanks for the look, and as usual, comments always welcome. Thank you to everyone here on HI who has supported my endeavor and contributed to it in any way, big or small. You make this hobby enjoyable, and I wish you all continued luck with your own collecting in 2015.
