It was a fun game to be at.. Finally...
Nice to see The Wiz in the lineup... diffently much calmer with the puck on his stick than any of the other D.
Johansen with his first career Goal
Moore with his first career Goal
Umberger with his first goal of season
Mac with his first goal of the season...
and York with his first playing time in an NHL game... sure only 2 min 33 secs and no shots on goal.. but hes probably going to have to play one of the games this weekend...
Finally score more than 2 goals in a game at home and only for the second time this season and the Top line got none of the goals..

Very good game by the 'Jackets - why do they not play with the same energy all of the time???
I do feel bad for Conklin in 2 respects:
1) The defense was almost non-existant for long stretches especially in the 2nd period where Columbus had odd-man or no-man rushes multiple times in a row.
2) I know players want to block shots coming to the net - but especially on Moore's goal - Eaves just needed to let that puppy go. Goalies are going to stop shots from the point 99.9% of the time when they are not screened. Puck hits Eaves glove and deflects over Conklin's other shoulder. It is kind of like an interception in football - the reciever has the ball hit him in the hands on a good throw - and the QB gets charged with the INT. Get out of the way - a 2-1 game becomes a 2 goal defecit in the blink of an eye.
No matter - it really should have been 5 or 6 to 1 twith that lackluster performance.
Hopefully the Jackets realize that they can play - but they have to give that effort EVERY night. They are much better than their record.
