Does anyone ever run any of the Sales Promotions in their ports outside of the free ones like Black Friday and Spring Cleaning?

If so, do you see any increase in sales during that time period over your normal sales?

Just sent in a bunch of stuff to have listed and was thinking about setting up a sale on my existing inventory to build up some balance to pay for the new listings, but didn't know whether it was worth the $3/day fee to set up a sale.

I've wondered about this as well. I tend to just lower my prices more manually. When I shop I dont notice sales, just the prices.

When my inventory gets stale and i have a few hundred cards that have not sold for a few months I run a 1 day sale at 75% off. I have done this twice and sold 400 cards the first time and 600 cards the second time. Brought in just over $1,000 in sales.

All of my cards are serial numbered and or inserts that typically are anywhere from $0.50 to a few bucks. I get these cards in bulk cheaply, so for me its a way to maximize a chunk of the cards and them clean out stuff that has not sold. It gets rid of a lot of stale cards and brings in some good money to buy higher end singles or cards I need/want for sets I am working on.

I really think the key is offering the sale at a greater discount than the 50% off standard. I do the 75% off and it works great for me based on what I am trying to do.

I just tend to liquidate inventory and run a port sale - costs $10 bucks and it helps me get rid of stale inventory that just sits. I know I need a certain amount of $$$ for a few cards - rest become a toss in with the total price of the port sale

I used to run a sale about every 3-4 weeks but now I just try to keep a close eye on my port & make sure things are priced to move. I haven't had a % off sale in a few months now & my monthly sales are steady all the same

Anytime they have a free sale - Thanksgiving, Spring Cleaning, Boxing Day - I take advantage. Otherwise, just price low and wait.
