Can someone explain to me how COMC can charge exorbitant amounts for shipping? I have 174 cards I'd like to have sent to me. They are quoting me $268 US to have these sent Express and doesn't even include top loaders or duties. That amounts to over $1.50 per card! If I were an eBay seller asking this shipping price, I'd be getting roasted.

Express basically jumps the line. The have a HUGE backlog of orders to ship. I've sent a couple orders to my US PO Box via Express. Last Express I requested on 6/12, shipped on 6/16 and delivered on 6/19.

Oh, and if you choose Express to Canada you will have to pay duties/tax on arrival.

I get that. I can select Expresspost but it's still $143 US and takes a month to arrive. That still doesn't include top loaders or duties. Just seems like they are overcharging the customer for their shipping issues. My only other option is to take regular shipping which means I won't see my cards until November. Seems ridiculous to me for the only option people have to ship the cards they bought on e-pack...

Were the prices always this high, or are they a deterrent to try and help them get through the backlog?

(Still waiting on my order that was supposed to ship mid-April; I got a response to an email and they can tell me literally nothing. No updated dates, nothing.)

I would pull everything I have out of COMC if I knew when I would receive it. And I'm not paying an exorbitant amount for something that is not my fault.

I believe they raised the rates to try and encourage people not to request shipment until they are caught up. I'm still waiting on my order placed December 1st to arrive. Hoping it arrives some times this summer.

If I had the cabbage I would buy a big building and do what COMC does. I would ship the orders though. I could call it JRs Excellent SportsCard Storage. Hobby Insiders could get 2% off they’re 10th order. Conditions Apply. Not valid for members in Alaska, Hawaii and Ontario.

Seriously though, I wonder if there will be a similar platform to COMC pop up in the near future?

I recently paid $106.99 to have 34 cards Express Rushed, their most expensive and quickest service. I submitted it on 6/17/21, it was supposed to ship on 6/23/21 and be delivered by 7/1/21. As of today(6/29), it still has not shipped.

I didn't see the value in asking for rushed at this time. It's (deliberately) prohibitively expensive, for not a lot of added value to the buyer.

Watch out, I've made comments like this here and on FB and people don't seem to take kindly to it. I have my opinions why, but whatever. Aside from their relationship with UD and ePack, there is nothing proprietary that COMC offers that could not be replicated. I've done web development for two decades. What's they're doing isn't difficult.

Sweet, you can be the computer guy and to start out we can keep some stuff in my garage. I got a little squirrel problem I gotta take care of first.
We won’t let the man bring us down!
Viva La Card Storage Place that’s not COMC

As a shipping hub, no. The website and inventory control software IS.

I LOVE comc, really do, but am getting beyond annoyed as well. I sent over 2000 cards home to put into my sets and pc and was expecting them 2 months ago and they still haven't shipped. I'm not privy to the behind the scenes but they have to figure something out. I think they just grew too quickly (especially with epack) and didn't know how to keep up so they are way behind. I just hope they are at least gaining on the backlog, a year to figure it out should be enough.

I put in a request for $14 and when they show up they show up. This will be my last dealing (sadly) with COMC until they get their house in order. They’ve been so helpful and amazing to use in adding to my PC.

That's the thing. I really like what COMC brings to the hobby but their shipping prices and delays have really made them difficult to deal with.

You’d think that if they have a shortage in one area that they would increase services to that area...unless they are trying to keep overhead down. A catch 20/20 if ever I saw one. Hire more peeps to help with the shipping of materials and cut your profit margin or not, to keep profit up but risk the chance of losing a portion of your client base which will cut into your future profits.

Money is worth more now (primarily will always be more now due to inflation) but based on potential profits, it can be seen as a “growth potential” and is prospective as anything else.

Wow, I get into this stuff way too much.

Go Lightning!

The stuff going on at comc is beyond inexcusable right now .
They are on my do not buy from list on comc and eBay until further notice.

The sooner people stop buying from them the sooner they will get their crap fixed.

Yup COMC is a gong show now with their charges/not shipping for months after the estimated ship date.

I put in a claim on 2 improper cards in my last order. They confirmed this June 22nd, told me to keep the two cards that were sent in error, refunded me for the one card that was no longer available and sent out the other missing card. card showed up today. 6 months for original order to arrive, 7 days for replacement card. Either way their customer service is awesome !

How did you get ahold of them, I have emailed 3 or 3 times, and not a response. They didn't even have the courtesy to respond to an email, even if they gave me some bs.
