COMC: Store credit 'cash out' - how long?

So, I'm a newbie to COMC.

I see a card I like. Seller is asking $100.11, which in my opinion was way too much, and conincidentally way over book value. So I want to offer what I considered a fair price of $40.00. COMC site says I must add funds *before* even making an offer? I have to pay money before actually winning an item? Okay, this is different than eBay.

So I add $40.00 of my PayPal balance (funds balance, not credit card, debit, etc) into COMC credit. I make my offer. The site replies that the seller won't accept offers less than $89.02 on this card. Okay, guess I'm not getting this card.

So I try to "cash out" (i.e. refund my money back to my PayPal). Apparently, I have to 'request' a cash out - it's not automated or instant. Well, this is disappointing. 24 hours later, COMC still has my money, except now my COMC credit shows as zero. The money is not back in my PayPal as of yet, and no other confirmation as to when/if this will occur.

I think I'll stick to eBay, where I don't have to pay for something before I win it.

Ok heres a few things for you

1st COMC is a different type of animal . You can find deals but you also get people who will over price items and not take half off.

2nd You can make offers but like above not everyone takes offers or takes much off of the offers. I take half off all my cards on the site.

3rd You are not paying for said card 1st what you are doing is funding your account . So basically putting money into the site so you can buy cards. If you want to purchase a card without making an offer then you can just pay for said card. But making offers on the site yo must have money in an account.

4th In order to get your money back fast call customer service and they will refund faster . Otherwise you have to wait a few days.


If you really want to understand COMC then i would google stories about them and you will find tons of info .

Thx, Ernie. Just spoke to NATHAN on their 1-800 line and he says he will try to make the refund happen by end of day.

I guess I just don't fully understand how the site works. By the sounds of it, it's not really my thing. I don't want to essentially have a balance of funds sitting on COMC if there is nothing else I want to buy there at this time. I would rather keep in PP and use on eBay or whatever else I need at the time.

No problem I can say if you check out the site more you will find it's a little better than you think. I can say i sent in 100.00 back in 2009 along with cards to list and since that day i have not added any other cash . Just Buying selling cards or sending in cards and using cash from sales for cards.
