Hello Forum:

Stopped into my preferred LCS while my son was at hockey practice. My intention was to get some UltraPro Team Bags only, but then I looked into one of the display cases. The dealer had some awesome new stock in there that I hadn't seen on my last visit about a month ago. The price sticker said $100 CAD (about $75 USD) and I asked him if it was for real? He took out the card, and questioned himself as to why it was $100, but said I could take it as marked. I thought about it for 66 seconds, then I whipped out by debit card. Really out of my wheelhouse for my p.c.'s, but then, is it really when you think about 2002-03 Parkhurst Retro?

What do you think? ;-)

Dang, if that’s real (which it seems it is), that’s a steal. Get that puppy graded!

Well thx for the + comments, folks. Grading is not something I am experienced with but you're making me curious.

I was thinking maybe BGS so I could get ratings for edges, surface, centering, etc, but is there anyone who thinks PSA would be better?

Anything vintage demands PSA. BGS is nice for the sub grades, but that's really the only upside to using BGS for a vintage card. PSA is definitely the way to go.

If you don't want to go through the hassle of grading it I have a wall of brothers that would gladly make room for him there. By the way, I trade heavily for these so let me know...

Hello. :) Thanks for the offer, but I'm inclined to keep it for now, with eventual consideration to grading submission. For $75 USD, I'm inclined to see how this all plays out. :)

Here’s your benchmark

How close does it look?

I'm no expert on vintage, but I feel like we're about the same on the L/R centering? Edges and corners look comparable?

Thx man. Only downside is I find the PSA slabs feel kind of "cheap"? Maybe it's just me. I'm in no rush to send it off; I'll take a few weeks to think it over, but I appreciate you replying and adding on the the "PSA" pile-up of comments. :)

Thx man. Always appreciate your comments on my threads.

It looks in pretty good condition. Nice centering and corners, and typical wire cut edges.

Congrats, it's a classic card :)

Thanks. Seeing the slight imperfections such as the one edge on reverse is what gave me some confidence that I was getting an authentic version of the card. :) For $100 CAD, it felt like a "no brainer". Interesting to see how it all plays out if I submit for grading.
