I refuse to pay a premium for a multi-color patch as opposed to a single color one. Half the time, it's a corner that has a speck of a different color, or a stitch mark, or a 1 millimeter line at the very edge of the patch. To me, to really call a patch multi-color, there must be a discernible strip, or have several portions of the card have more than 1 color, or have it be at least like 80/20. Just wondered what other people thought on the matter.

HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMM..

Paying a premium for a Multi-Coloured Patch?

Last time I read the 'Beckett' there wasn't a multiplier for Patches.. Cause it is assumed that the patch is already multi-coloured.... There is however in most instances a discount for single coloured patches.

The Price Guide gives a multiplier for Multi-coloured GU items though.

Remember that it's a hobby & only pay as much as you what... Cause no one can twist your arm around to pay... ;)

First off let me say, I really like Patch cards. I do struggle more with patch cards then any other cards when deciding what I am willing to pay for a specific card. How much more is one patch worth than the next? The beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....

I won't trade for a patch card at a premium unless it has a crazy swatch such as the one posted earlier. Once upon a time there weren't a lot of unique patches in the hobby, but now they pop up almost everyday so even though they're still very nice cards, they're just more common than they used to be..

And I know i paid to much for it but I wanted a piece of a patch and rest that i have seen look lke the second one... :D
With patches, it's less about colors and it's more about the uniqueness...

4 color unique:

Quite simply, there are weak 2 colors and strong 2 colors. Same goes for 3 color, 4 color and so on. The more unique the patch, the stronger it is. of course eye appeal is also in the eye of the beholder. I think I'll go drink some tea now.
