I thought I'd only see this in that horrid Washington Post article, but since it keeps popping up...
The Flyers slogan prior to the season was Vengeance. It's not vengeance as in let's go beat the crap out of people for no reason. It was Vengeance as in "Back with a vengeance" meaning that they finished last place last season, and wanted to come back strong and with a purpose this year. So Vengeance Now is not a rally cry for Sid's head on a plate, or a crippling of Ovechkin, or a removal of Kovalev's genitals. It was a slogan the team had prior to any of the suspensions (besides Downie). Wasn't sure if everyone knew that, and it was getting to me that everyone thought it was created because of the suspensions.
