Cool New product.

They did this in baseball last year. All cards were printed on a canvas type stock. All were prints of actual paintings done up. Lot like the Artistic Impressions set done a few years ago. I loved the baseball set, and for you player collectors, enough parallels to make Pacific look easy to get. There will be redemptions inserted for the actual paintings.

It's Legends Classics except artwork instead of photography.

Not saying that's a bad thing and, in fact, it may very well have been the point.

But overall, I'm just not feeling this... it's just another product release. However, it's different from all the others. So I just wish there were less products released to accommodate this one. Otherwise, the appreciation will be kept at a minimum.

4 hits plus 2 parallels per box, is that right? At least at $6.99 it might not be that bad a value compared to many other products. But there are many other products to choose from.

For me, it's a great product. No Marc-Andre Fleury's to hunt down!!! My bank account could really use a break.

I'm with Ken on this one - nary a Sakic in sight makes Q a happy man.

Of course, OPC premier looks ready to take up that slack with gleeful abandon...

It's a 15 pack box, so you have a 40% hit ratio - not bad at all. For the most part, it's really about building the set and all the rest is extra. At least that was my thoughts on building the baseball set.

Yeah, at $105 per box, and all the hits being star players it could be a good value product.

It doesn't thrill me though so that's why I'll probably steer clear. So I'll just say that this is a product that's simply not for me, but others will appreciate it. There are other products that I think should be removed from the hobby. This one has it's place.

That's one of the big reasons why I stopped collecting Yzerman. With all of the cards he has now, and is likely to have in the future, I had a hard time setting any collection goals. He has way too many cards to collect them all, and his nicer stuff is way out of my league. It's hard to stay motivated sometimes when you have no specific thing to strive for.
