Corey Perry's days with the Anaheim Ducks have officially come to an end.

The Ducks have finalized a buyout for the 14-year veteran, the team announced Wednesday. Perry's not expected to be placed on waivers due to his no-movement clause and will head straight to free agency, according to TSN's Frank Seravalli.

Anaheim reportedly explored the trade market for the 34-year-old, but the Ducks only had four-to-six teams to work with because of the no-movement clause, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

Perry was drafted by the Ducks with the 28th overall selection in 2003 and has spent each of his 14 seasons in Anaheim. He helped the franchise capture its first Stanley Cup in 2007.

He has declined, it will be interesting to see if he can rebound. Some of his decline was natural but some was injury related. Would love to see him skating with Barzal or McDavid if, a big if, he is healthy. Heart and soul guy!

Wow I did not know that he has been in the league that long. Seems that it was just a short while ago that he was part of that super London Knights team that dominated the OHL and won the Memorial Cup.

I think that it had to be done. You just couldn't justify having that huge cap hit on the team even if it will result in dome decent dead cap space change. Still frees up 6 million that can be spent to replace his production.

One of those guys you hate as an opponent, but likely love on your team.

He has done some pretty shady **** over the years, but his skill set as a scoring forward in the NHL is undeniable; great shot, release, and hands like a magician.

Hope he stays the heck out of my Kings division, little puke. :D ;)

he should be a lock to get in the hall of fame but I somehow see he doesn't get in

be a shame cause hes won at every level of hockey, from juniors to pros to Olympics

How wouldn't he get in as a first ballot guy? Depending on how healthy he is, north of 400 goals and 800 points is realistic, possibly as soon as next season. He's got the individual hardware, and he's got team hardware coming out of his ears. Other than his antics over the years might make him a tad unlikable, I can't see a strike against him.
