Couple o'goalies

Recieved in a trade with Trevor Sparkes from beckett.
Worked out well in the end, even though the post mark on the bubbler is from the day I sent a casual 'get the cards yet?' they arrived, and that's what counts...or so I'm telling myself.
Just a headsup for the future I guess.
And, with that pun, that will make sense in a moment, we commence mail!

1996 UPPER DECK BAP Auto Felix Potvin...so...I'm not quite perplexed as to ITG's complaints about the BAP name going to upper deck.
But I'm not getting into that.

I'm debating on taking this to see if I meet Smytty this weekend @ that our game to give event in Hamilton.
Comrie, Tucker, and Smytty are going to be there, aswell as a bunch of others, should be fun.

Anywho.

You know, for jerseys like the Smyth, a neat idea would be to buy a bunch of those avery labels, trim one so it fits nicely on the card, then get the player to sign right on the sticker. I was thinking of doing it with some of my cheaper jerseys with Iginla and Turek. If the sticker is cut right, you could have a pretty phat looking card...unless you want TubGirl's autograph....then I think you should pass :D

chips*dad: thanks :) I was a little disappointed the auto isnt' on there thicker or stronger, but, first potvin auto,
if I had bankroll I'd try to throw together a 93 leafs team set of autos.
That'd be hella cool...stop saying hella Phil..:D
 
I too never really comment on your maildays, but am always curious enough to look. :rolleyes:
Nice Potvin, but I agree, needs to be a bit stronger, gets lost on that card.

Nice Mail Phil! I'll try and remember listing my Smyth doubles one day for you before the expo so you can let me know which ones you need.

Ya know,
something that didn't hit me until I was looking at the Potvin today.
The patch on his shoulder is missing.
Got me to thinking one thing before coming to the correct conclusion.
Remember the 03-04 OPC/Topps Doug Gilmour card that, while they tried to make it look real, was missing the shoulder patch, leading me to the conclusion that the main jersey had been CG'd on there, which was the seemingly proper conclusion.

HOWEVER,
this card is a different story.
(there won't be rambling like above, lil tired, 7am..well, 6am kind of, but, tired)
This card lacks NHL licence.
Still a sweet card, and sweet pose and auto, but, kinda draws backa weeee little bit.

I should get goalies in the mail more often :D

Can't beat a mail day with a Potvin auto - wish I had them everyday :)

That was the first Potvin certified auto I acquired, shame those where the days when adding an auto seemed to be an after thought.
