Hello HI community. It's been a minute.
So I'm gonna keep it short (it means its gonna be long) but I thought It would be a pretty cool story to share.

Back in 06-07 season, I started collecting hockey cards again
(1 year too late)
So I busted some spgu and pulled a 2 color black/gold inked sweater auto patch Crosby card. It was my biggest pull yet. However within a year, the Crosby signature started to fade. I started freaking out. I contacted upper deck and was happy to be informed that they will be replacing the card. I then received a replacement card, same exact card but this time a 3 color.

I was pretty happy with this replacement. Can't complain.
Same exact card. They changed the patch to 3 colors. I'm not gonna complain.

Well, lets fast forward 10-11 years.. yes you read that right. 10-11 years. I noticed that the card started having discoloration. The edges started turning green. I couldn't believe it. I was so upset as I store my cards in a dry and dark place. Checked all my other cards and this was pretty much the only card withthe discoloration.

So I contacted upper deck despite hearing about their1 year replacement policy, told them what happened, they came back and asked me for my address phone number and pics etc... then didn't hear back. I contacted them again and they said my request was rejected. At this point why would they ask me for all this info?? To just tell me its rejected? Something didn't make sense. So I requested an escalation. This was around July 4th.

They finally responded back confirming that they understand that there is more to this issue than just a replacement, as I had issues with this card before and approved replacement. They said they would replace it with equivalent value. I simply asked for a signed Crosby with 2-3 colors and similar numbering /25. I sent in the card.

Fast forward to today, I get a fed ex package and at this point I'm expecting a card with equal value.

I open up the package and first thing I see is

So at this point I'm happy. It's a Crosby inked sweaters. There is only one card. I'm expecting something with similar numbering.
But then I flip the card

:rock::dance:

15-16 Crosby inked sweaters nicer 3 colors and 2/3...

So happy. Thank you upper deck. You got it right this time.

And thank you my fellow h.i. team for taking the time to read. What are your thoughts!?
Hope everyone is staying safe! Thanx

I have had nothing but great experience with UD QA and other members of the UD team. They take great care of their customers IMO.

I opened about 35 cases of UD2 this year and had one case that had no SP canvas ygs or retired stars. I mentioned to UDQC and customer service and within about 8 weeks I received about 10 canvas cards including the Jack Hughes. No issues with Upper Deck customer service.

That's awesome, not only 10 canvas but the Hughes to boot. That's amazing. Honestly I just feel blessed. To replace a /25 card with a /3 and it being a 13 year old card.. it was awesome. The fact that it had already been replaced once I'm just glad they owned up for the quality issue. Been a tough couple months but this definitely brought a smile to my face

It's a great question but it's in mint condition so not sure either
.. I wont complain. I was so happy last night I almost took the card to bed with me loool

ncie but how could it start to fade it doesnt look like it has faded in the photo ? i never had a sticker auto fade really..

The faded auto was on the original card that was replaced with the old spgu crosby card that I posted. I no longer have a photo of the original. It was a nightmare. Everytime I'd check the card a part of his auto was missing. An auto shouldn't fade away like that. I immediately contacted them and I received the old spgu card you see posted as a replacement. Then the edges turned green despite the fact that I store them well. This shouldn't happen to quality products. They owned up to it and replaced it with that Crosby 2/3.
