Got this from Karvin today:

"The Sid auto is indeed only his autograph, with an inscription of 2005 #1 pick"

No luck for those looking for a Gretzky/Crosby dual. Anyone less that Gretz or Lemieux on this card would have been a monumental disappointment.

John, that's good it's an inscription and not a double Croz graph. Still, IMO, a major disappointment that they could not have gotten Wayne on there. What is up with that?

I mean he signs for them anyway, what's a few hundred more paper cuts?

On the flip side I have noticed his auto's getting mroe and more limited in recent products (i.e. SPA SOTT 15 copies, Glacial Graphs 15 copies, etc).

Well that card will still sell to all the sidiots like hot cakes!

Hmmm, very interesting... I really don't think it would have been worth any more with a Gretzky Autograph on it anyways, so why not pair Gretzky with someone else, or have a Gretzky Autograph by himself as a part of the regular set... that would be cool...

I don't believe UD received clearance from the PA to include someone like Gretzky in the set - I don't think I saw any other retired players in the base set and this would be included. Their allotment may have been used up in SPx and SPA for retired players in base sets.
