Hey all:
Well, it’s time for the latest acquisition post! As some know, I am going to build sets now (but still keep the Ladd collection going). First up are a bunch of nabs I got from a local guy. He was interested in a bunch of my trade bait that I couldn’t even get a nibble on here. All of these first pictured cards are available. The two sets I am working on are 2006/7 SPA and 1968/69 OPC. Of course I remain interested in top name rookies too.
Next up, you will see in the top right corner, a white whale that I have been beating the bushes for a long time now. Landing this Jagr SP now means I now hold complete sets of 2005/06 UD1 jerseys, Shooting Stars jerseys, and UD2 Rookie Threads jerseys (no whites). I even have a line on the UD2 jersey set, but I have so much to buy, and so little money remaining (same old same old). And of course with my usual anality, I have all the base and inserts sets too. None other than everyone’s bud Vinny (meth68) set it aside for me. Thanks again Vin!!!
You will also see my meager start at the 68/69 series. I think I’m going to focus on well centered cards without creases. Fuzzy corners aren’t as big a deal to me. I am finding myself getting all nostalgic with this set as it’s the first set I put together when I was just a wee lad! FYI, the Sawchuk is Topps (not OPC) but I just had to get one. Is there any other issue of Terry in a Kings uni? And of course, what’s a Cuda post without a Hurricane rookie too
The next two pictures are mostly the success I have had thus far on the SPA FW autos. Not pictured is a Shultz redemption and a Benoit Pouliot (just received). I have several more coming in, and almost all of them are from valued members of our community. A huge thanks to Michael Doyle and RynoRat!
The second page also shows my “quadratic Laddic”. The fourth variation is numbered 1/1. Again, Ryan (RynoRat) deserves another huge thank you from me for holding onto this badboy for me!
There you have it! Words of encouragement are welcomed
Thanks for taking a peek.
