Hello HI......this will be a longer S&T as I need to take a break this summer to focus on more important life issues. I very much appreciate the look. Comments and opinions are always encouraged. :beer: Chris
June 18th 2016-Detroit Red Wings C Pavel Datsyuk officially announced his decision to retire from the NHL after 14 Seasons and return to Russia to end his career in the KHL. While I am not surprised considering Mitch Albom broke this story shortly before the Playoffs started, it certainly doesnt help the sting I feel knowing I will probably never watch him play in person again. #13 is the BEST player I have ever seen in my 37 years of existence. My Dad recently sent me the Freep article in the mail with a note attached. My Dad is almost 70 and has watched all the past greats in person including Howe, Orr, Richard, Dryden, Hull, Gretzky, Lemieux and countless others. He still considers Pavel to be the most talented player he's ever seen. Scotty Bowman referred to Datsyuk as a "dangerous" player his rookie year. The Magician was a quiet leader who played his entire NHL career with 1 team which is such a rarity these days. I fully expect his number to be retired and hanging in the rafters in the near future. Rather than go into a long winded rant about Mr. Ken Holland......I will bite my tongue and just focus on the S&T. One thing I will say is the Wings have failed to supply elite talent and protection for Datsyuk IMHO the last several seasons.......hes playing on his last leg......literally. Thank you for all the amazing memories #13....you will be sorely missed. :wings: :stanley::stanley:

Lets start with some Final Vault shall we.....I believe these would be considered Black Versions considering they all have that color on the V stamp on front.
This is a card I have never seen before the release of FV.
2003-04 Parkhurst Original 6 Detroit Game Used Gear Skate, no print run stamped on back.
Next up I received this in a trade with HI member c_bass22.
2003-04 Parkhurst Rookie Jersey Auto stamped /10 on back. Curious Datsyuk's auto on this is a later style he used from 2007-08 for a short while. Any thoughts?
