Dany Heatley requests trade

I think a goalie and a top 12 first round draft pick power forward is fair compensation no? If it had to be a defenseman, I could live with Barker being traded, no way should they trade Seabrook. Huet & Barker? Sure, wrap it up, I'd take that deal.

Ottawa got Leclaire at the trading deadline so I doubt they would be looking for antoher goalie in return...

Theres no way their going for Huet, they would want a defenseman and probably a first rounder

Would love to see him in a AVS jersey. Could really turn the team around on what could be a horrible next 2/3 seasons.

Well, the talk on Team 1200 today (and they are simply speculating) is that Murray has known about this for a while now. They will move Heatley's salary and take some back but leave space to chase down Bouwmeester. Interesting thought...

Here's a deal I wouldn't mind seeing:

Oilers get Heatley & one of our extra D-men (Lee, Smith or Schubert)

Sens get Gilbert, O'Sullivan & 2009 first round pick

What do the Sens need Huet for?
The need is bigger on the blue line... gimme a top 4 guy and a 2nd line forward and you got a deal

If Chicago wants him, I'd say the Sens would need either Keith or Seabrook in the deal AND I wouldn't mind Dave Bolland being the forward coming our way as well

Hey, what if this happened...

TB deals Lecavalier so they need another scorer. They have the 2nd overall pick... they trade it along with whatever else for Heatley. Come draft day, the Isles select Hedman.

Brian Burke would have to kiss Bryan Murray's a$$ in an attempt to get that pick. Oh that would be a great day LOL

Over the last year it seems he has taken the critism too lightly, regardless if it has been deserved or not. I don't think he'll move because the team has been struggling or that he can't rely on Alfredsson in the future. Some stars doesn't demand much of themselves but I don't think Dany takes his tasks lightly. There'll be a successor to Alfie with the same role in time and Heatley should know success isn't guaranteed elsewhere. Atleast not where they got room for his huge salary. If he moves it's probably because off-ice matters, and no, I don't think he'll move anywhere soon.

What Hossa did? Hossa actually was VERY disappointed when the Sens traded him before the 05-06 season. He always said he wanted to stay and be a part of this organization long term. The only problem was he was not willing to take a "home-town discount" which is why the Sens did the sign-and-trade with him

And so was I, on Hossa. It's for me obvious he didn't want to stay badly enough. Hossa is a good player but not worth anyway near what he demands. On the other hand... as long as players like Jeff Finger get over $3M I'm sure Hossa will have somewhere to play as well

I like Phaneuf, but I wouldn't swap Heater for him.

Me neither. I have to say I wish so badly Sens could get Hedman in some way. I can see him develop into a Pronger type of player:(

I love how the league puts up with the players nonsense. If you crybabys aren't happy with where you are playing then either quit hockey , retire or rot in the minors. I bet that there tons of people who play hockey and would love a shot at the pros and not complain of where they are playing.

You and your agent signed a huge long term deal to stay in ottawa, and now you want out. WHAT A JOKE.

First, I don't know if this is a rumor or not, so I won't comment on Heatley specifically.

But I will defend players in general. What you wrote is easy to say, until you put yourself in a player's shoes.

We all think it is so easy, these whiny millionaires. The truth is, they are just guys like us who want a good working environment and a successful career and a good life.

Don't begrudge someone of personal hapiness just because they get paid a lot. At the end of the day, it's not about the money for most of these guys.

Your perspective changes a lot when you know one of these boys, and see what they go through to earn their money, knowing someday they will be tossed aside like a piece of garbage once their skills have eroded.

Here's a little trade I saw elsewhere.

Dany Heatley and Jason Smith to LA for Alex Frolov, Jack Johnson, and LA's 5th overall (Brayden Schenn).
