I recently invested in a Dit Clapper RC and it is graded by SCG. I'm thinking of sending it to PSA to get it graded by them. What do you all think? Is that a mistake? It is graded by SCG as a 6.

Unless you are selling and think it will bump, the cost of the cross prob makes no sense.

SGC is definitely legit. They've actually been around as long as any grader has been, I think.

Yeah, I liked SGC better than PSA for a while for vintage cards. Never had a crossover graded higher by PSA it's a tricky gamble. I think you can stipulate not to convert it if it doesn't grade higher or the same, so you keep your grade.
