I really didn't know much about it until the movie came out and the autograph set. I knew a little bit about the event but after watching the movie I had a whole new respect for Herb Brooks. It really was an eye opener to what the players have to endure to become champs.

For those of you interested - pick up the book Boys of Winter - real quick and easy read and for those of you that are as big a fan of the 80s team as I, I am sure it will bring more than one tear to your eye.

I personally don't think that it is even close and that the 80's boys did something that has never been done in sports history - the Russians were the world power and had just got done stomping the NHL All Stars at the Garden weeks before Placid. Sure I am biased but this was truely one of the greatest sports moments ever.
