those sets, subsets, and player collections that you have parted with? tonight i was reminiscing about when i collected full-time and all the money i spent... had to have multiple boxes of almost every product... and the stuff i collected that i parted with over the years.

i put together the entire Legendary AKA auto set from 04-05 UD Legendary Signatures set. took me a little less than 2 years to put together, none pack pulled, all trades and sales. ended up sitting on it for 6 months or so, and sold it to a member here for a good little chunk of change. didn't keep track of what i paid for it, so i will never know if i made any money or not.

i also put together the entire 02-03 Topps Chrome base set, with rookies, Patrick Roy reprints, and the "update" cards that weren't chrome. no refractors or autos. and except for one card (Martin Gerber rc that i got off ebay), the ENTIRE set was put together thru hobby boxes and retail packs.

and i had one helluva Ray Emery pc, which i ended up selling to a member on here. had lotsa memorabilia cards and low #'d parallels.

i am curious about other's feelings on the subject.

Yup, all the time, every time I open my card safe...

I had the complete set of 09-10 Cup Enshrinements, Singles, Duals, Triples. It was beautiful. I ended up selling it for a good sum. But, I miss it. That said, it was good having that money there for post secondary.

Good topic!

98/99 Black Diamond Gold triples /1000 .......back before there were pictures on eBay haha. Cards /1000 used to be actually wrth something!! It took what seemed like forever to finally finish it off and then when it was done I was like "Well who gives a poop about a triple diamond Pavol Demitra or Manny Malhotra??"

So I sold em off a couple years later, one by one. Kept Joe Sakic. That's about it.

Here are a few cards I regret getting rid of....nothing super high end though, more sentimental value:

1997-98 Donruss Press Proof Gold Patrick Roy - packed pulled by me in 1998. It booked for $150. I went through a BIG ebay selling phase in 2007 when I was hoping to support myself selling. I thought maybe the card would sell for decent money and ended up getting $18 for it.

1961-62 Terry Sawchuk PSA 4. A beautiful card. It was a graded a PSA 4 due to light water damage on the back, otherwise the card was pristine. I needed some money for textbooks at the time of selling

1995-96 Bowman Foil Patrick Roy

1997-98 Zenith Z-Team 8X10 Martin Brodeur (un-cut!)

Yep mine are mostly from other sports I used to have a huge Oscar Robertson collection, all i have is a 1961 All Star ticket stub and an autographed cigar box left(he likes cigars), used to collect Topps Chrome sets and refractors in basketball(had the 03-04 and 04-05 regular and refractor sets, put those together via wax, trade, and buying, had a decent Legends Autos collection going in basketball, as well as a nice Braves autograph collection going. I used to have a huge Star Wars CCG collection, had started that as a kid, down to just a few cards that I pulled when younger. Most recently had started a big non sports collection but dismantled it when the market started tanking heavily in that area.

I have small pieces from everything.
