Does anybody use the Ikea Billy book shelves for displaying memorabilia?

I am moving soon and am looking for some new display equipment. Does anybody on here use the ikea billy series shelves to display sports stuff. Especially the ones with the glass doors. Do they work well for sports memorabilia. I know there are some ikea fans on these forums.

I used the detolf as well. I've had mine for 5-6 years now.

Are you guys concerned about your cards fading from ambient light, window sunlight, or humidity shifts over the seasons? I keep all my cards of any significance in mag-touches, then in team bags, then in solid metal "tool cases" from Canadian Tire, then in dark cool area of basement.

If I was going to display, I would prefer if I could have little mini-shelfs spanning the long wall of the room, maybe 10-12 shelves, and display 50+ cards in a "gallery format", but all of my concerns above would keep me from ever doing this.

There is no point in my collection if I can't enjoy it. If it fades or gets moisture that is just the cost of enjoyment. As far as my own collection I don't care if it makes the cards worthless as I collect what I like and not for value or perceived investment or any of that stuff.

Although I do put everything on display in a one touch but that is because I like the look.

I understand your point and its valid I only display the GU stuff the autos are kept in a box.

I love the detolf cases as well. The price is right on them and as stated you can see things from all angles. However, I am considering changing over to the bookcases because they are taller, wider (which would allow me to display a couple of jersey's) and potentially easier to resell if I was ever in a situation I needed to move.

I know not everyone is comfortable posting pics, but I would love to see some pics of your detolf displays if anyone was interested in posting them.

Billy is my beer cellar (and white box) shelving! Those things are strong.
