Does everyone mark items as shipped?

Just wondering if everyone marks an item as shipped on eBay? I have something I bought a week ago and it has not yet been marked as shipped. Auction says seller ships within two days of payment. Payment was made as soon as auction ended. I messaged the seller to see if they had the tracking information (shipping from USA to Canada) on Friday with no response. Seller has listed more items over the weekend.

I know it has only been a week but seller does have a couple of negatives in the last 6 months for something similar and the card never being shipped.

Since it is cross border shipping the estimated delivery window is not closed until early June. So I don't believe I have any options around support from eBay until then. Now it might just be that they have shipped it and not marked it as such but it just worries me a bit.

Should I be worried or just relax and hope it shows up in the mailbox?
 
I try to keep up with it, and for the most part do pretty well. However, once in a while I there will be stuff that I shipped several days ago that I forgot to mark or haven't gotten around to marking yet.
 
I'm guilty of forgetting to update it, for sure. I try to remember.... but don't always.

*IF* I forget though, and catch it... usually it goes something like this:

I shipped on Monday. Realize on Wednesday I forgot to tag it like that. I send a note to the buyer... tell them it was shipped Monday, but I forgot to update it (but then I update it).
 
I always mark my items as 'shipped' all the time. Helps keep me organized if I don't.

Re: your situation, I would definitely send a follow-up note if it doesn't show by the end of the second week. And perhaps weekly follow-ups until you a proper response. Just make sure to file your 'product not received' claim with eBay to make sure you have your bases covered.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was automatically updated to shipped if you buy and print out a printing label using Paypal? Could be wrong, though.

I think so as well. I ordered a card from someone in the US and it was mark shipped and gave me a tracking number immediately. A couple weeks later I realized I hadn't gotten yet. So I click on the tracking number and it says "not received by USPS". I messaged the seller and he said he forgot to mail it out even though he generated the label and marked it as shipped.

Yes- If he shipped via Ebay/PP, it will automatically update and provide the tracking # as well for Canada. Not sure why anyone would want to pay retail- more money and no ebay shipping label. To me, the ability to get the DELCON included is the one big advantage to Ebay. If the tracking doesn't show "received by USPS" best top doublecheck as you did because the shipper for whatever reason, didn't place it in the mail.
