Just doing a daily check on ebay for Sean Burke cards. Man some people really don't know how to price their cards to sell. I found a card of Sean's that has a $50 bv, this guy has the bidding starting at $49.95 WTF.
Another with a $25 bv starts at $22. The last one I loved because it books for $30 and the bidding starts at $35.
Before you jump me and say the seller can list for whatever he likes, I understand that, but lets be realistic here, this is Sean Burke not Wayne Gretzky,lol. This just made me shake my head is all. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

It happens all the time with Nagy stuff. Everybody else would list it at .99 and let 'er go, but it seems anytime something pops up that I really want, the seller is the one guy who decides to list it at 2-3x what it would sell for at regular auction......
 
The best thing is to wait. Down the road, the card will be relisted.

A saw an Odjick I wanted with a BIN of 25$. That's a lot for a 20$ BV jersey card single colored.

A few weeks later, what I see? The same Odjick jersey relisted by the same seller, with a BIN of 20$, and a starting price of 9,99$. I got it for 9,99$!!! :)
 
Probably people fishing, I do believe that yesterday was a cheap listing day. That always brings out tons of listings for me to wade through. Many of which are delusional.
 
I do a bit of fishing myself, because there are always people who take the bait.

Howabout the 00-01 Topps Parallel (/100) of Brett Hull I sold within 5 hours of being listed? I picked it up a few months ago at a show for $0.25, and sold it on ebay for $16.99.
 
One way I can understand is if the card is a low print run. That way the set builders might be clamouring to grab it.

I've been known to fish the odd time too, but only bother doing that with current "hot" cards since someone will usually bite.

I know you won't take offense Danno when I suggest that Burkie hasn't been on a hot list in a while. As suggested, wait it out, you'll get a much better price ;)
 
I skeet shoot from time to time, but rarely get lucky.

With that said, I've been known to overspend on inexpensive cards just to cross them off the list.
