Downie's in trouble, he's looking at 10 games.

Downie should get at LEAST 10 for that. That rule is pretty strict, and then he may be considered a repeat offender.
How does the rule apply when it is a stoppage in play, one player goes to the bench, and he comes on to replace him? He did not jump onto the ice while everyone else was engaged to join an altercation. Not defending him, but he may not be subject to the automatic 10 games, no?
woot!! I am so glad downie did that. its that many less games I have hear about that guy. really one of my most hated players in the game besides avery lol

Sucks to see Downie trashed on so much. He has cleaned up his act a lot more than most people give him credit for. Every team has somebody on it who has done something worse than Downie in the past year. He stuck up for his team when he felt they were disrespected. Job well done!

There are a lot of players that are worse than Downie. Danny Briere, Patrick Kaleta, Patrick Kane, PK Subban, Milan Lucic, that's just off hand. All a bunch of douchebag punks.

Downie was selected in the first round, 29th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Not long after being drafted, Downie was suspended for five games early in the 2005–06 OHL season for an on-ice altercation with teammate Akim Aliu. During a practice on September 28, 2005, Downie blindly cross-checked Aliu in the face without warning, knocking out 3 of his teeth, and then proceeded to fight his younger teammate.[1] The incident stemmed from 16-year-old Aliu's refusal to take part in a hazing incident, where he would have been forced to stand naked in a cramped bus bathroom with other rookies.
now that list is funny. are we playing which 2 dont belong there? I can kinda see saying Kane is a douche for his off ice run in with the cabbie, but that was 1 time. On ice he hasn't done anything to be included with Kaleta, Lucic, or subban. plus your list is missing Avery, Cooke, and Tootoo
Some peoples' ideas of Downie go all the way back to junior and won't ever change.

I don't believe in vilifying someone for one incident long in the past, but since then he's done very little to bring his name out of the mud in my mind.
