little surprised there was not a thread already.
Colorado has won the draft lottery and will unless they trade it or decide to go for someone else ( please god no) it looks like my prayers have been answered and Seth Jones is gonna be an AV!
Here is the order
1. Colorado Avalanche
2. Florida Panthers
3. Tampa Bay Lightning
4. Nashville Predators
5. Carolina Hurricanes
6. Calgary Flames
7. Edmonton Oilers (NHL record 4th straight year with Top 10)
8. Buffalo Sabres
9. New Jersey Devils
10. Dallas Stars
11. Philadelphia Flyers
12. Phoenix Coyotes
13. Winnipeg Jets
14. Columbus Blue Jackets
Discuss. Does this help the AVS? Is your team in a good spot?
 
That can only help the Avs. I must admit, though, I did breath a sigh of relief when I realized that Edmonton didn't get a fourth-straight #1 overall pick :) haha.
 
Drinking game: Every time the media says Seth's dad Popeye played for the Denver Nuggets and introduced him to Joe Sakic, drink!

It will be interesting to see where Nichushkin goes. He may fall because of his KHL contract and that could shake up the draft order.
 
No doubt the Flames are a bit disappointed. They were probably hoping for 3 or 4 at least. I expect they will try to move up somehow, if they can. Disastrous lottery for Columbus. I also expect the Oil will try to move their pick for some veteran help.

It was probably a typo by your friend, it may have been that the Oilers don't get the number 1 pick for the fourth straight year. This is actually Edmonton's fifth straight year going in the top-10 (Magnus Paajarvi - 10th overall in 2009).
