I'm not sure if anyone else was watching this one. Got out of my price range pretty quickly, but an awesome sale for an HI member:

I've seen some PSA 9s sell, but I didn't realize there would be such a jump for the 10.

Just bought a Dryden RC didn't pay anywhere near that, but card was not a 10 either. Hope buyer and seller are both happy with the sale.

The Dryden is not a holy grail card generally speaking. But to each their own how they define what is holy grail to them. There are at least a couple dozen psa 10 vintage RC’s that rank ahead of this one to the hobby at large.

Despite that, still an amazing card with a population of 7 out of over 800 grades.

I agree not a holy grail but definitely a cornerstone rookie in the vintage segment. Also, the sale price was actually a bit lower than recent sales. Great Looking card though!

I don't follow vintage that much, but for me this would be in my top ten. That being said, the vintage market is incredibly appealing. I am curious what are the big rookie cards in that market?

For me, my top ten is:

1. Georges Vezina RC
2. Maurice Richard RC
3. Bobby Orr RC
4. Wayne Gretzky RC
5. Gordie Howe RC
6. Terry Sawchuk RC
7. Jacques Plante RC
8. Ken Dryden RC
9. Cyclone Taylor RC
10. Jean Beliveau RC
