East Finals: Pistons/Celtics Thread

Celtics walk away with trip to finals after game 5 win at home

Win first 2 and games 4 and 5!

Detroits slow giants show their age!

Celtics haven't played good basketball yet. Ray Allen has struggled through out the entire playoffs and the Pistons will certainly miss Billups (unless he is returning). Experience versus the desperate, should make it interesting. With Billups I would say the Pistons would win, without Billups its hard to say.

I will go with the Pistons in 6.

Celtics will win first 2 and games 4 and 5! against the Pistons.

THEN the Celtics will beat the LAKERS with a GAME 7 by 2 points made by Ray Allen.

Once again the Celtics win the home game, but what will they do on the road once again? Good decent win by them tonight however!

Very good game for the Celtics. Should they win the next one in similar fashion, they will be in excellent shape.

Allan actually looked decent last night, Billups on the other hand hurt the Pistons.

Allen still isn't hitting his shots. His points seem to be coming from going to the hoop and the odd free throw. Not that I have a problem with that, but he is kinda the shooter. I gotta think that he's hurt or something cause his type of skill doesn't just abandon him that abruptly.

He still was drawing players on D out of respect for his shot and then driving for layups or hitting his teammates with a pass. He responded and adjusted which was good to see.

I think all those guys have done some great work and sacrifice what they all did seperately as key players for their former teams to be minor contributers, or sometimes the key player the Celtics need them to be, very unselfish as long as the team wins!

I think this is a great comment that applies to both teams.

Yes I think the Pistons have a very good chance to get to the NBA Finals again for a change!!! They were able to win in one of the toughest cities to win at on the road during the playoffs tonight......

The Celtics need more then 3 guys to win, Rondo, take a shot holy crap. Seems like everytime the Celtics get the ball they look for the big three players. Open players are passing up open shots to pass to Pierce, Allan and Garnett even if those players are double teamed. It makes it alot easier for the Pistons to smother those 3. Pistons are using 10 guys and everyone is playing thier role.

So far the Celtics are looking really good at halftime, can they achieve their first road win? If so how sad is it they did it a team against Pistons though, instead of teams like Atlanta or the Cavaliers?

Terrible loss for the Pistons tonight. I was really surprised at how much they lost by at home especially coming off the big win they had in Boston on Thursday night.

Now that the Celtics have overcome their hump of not winning on the road, can they build on that again in a few days? Or will they go back to their own ways, and fall, and I think if they fall this next game it will be HARD!

I don't think it'll be hard if they lose Game 4. They've regained their home court advantage in convincing fashion. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Detroit bounced back and won Game 4. I'm sure Boston is expecting this series to go back and forth and not be a short one. If the Celtics do take Game 4 though, this one is over.
