Its been a brutal time to be a Patrick Eaves collector. :|

Is he playing that poorly that he can't even get an NHL contract? Ever since he got hit by the Pens player in the playoffs he's been off his game. Follow that up with a shoulder injury and there goes his career. :|

Did he get bought out or put through waivers? If he was put through waivers no one will want to pick up his contract until he clears. If he was bought out then I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't pick him up at a decent price.

Waivers I believe

That would explain why no one would pick him up. I think he still had 2 or 3 years left on his contract and if someone claimed him off waivers they would have to pay him the remainder of the deal.
Once he clears waivers he's free to make a new deal with anyone at any price. I'm sure the Wings will be interested unless they sign Mike Grier first.

Edit: Just to add also several teams are waiting until after arbitration hearings are over (July 31st) to see what kind of money they have left.

Good point. I'd hate to see the guy leave for Russia or something. As long as he can clear waivers then I'm hoping to see him play again.......maybe for the Sens. :D

I don't think he'll be back in Ottawa. Apparently Brian Murray isn't a big fan of his.

Oh how I feel your pain with an ex Sens career gone down the tubes. Bochenski hasn't done much either.

If Brian McGrattan can find a team, and Ray Emery can find a team then I'm sure Patrick Eaves can find a team!!

I like Eaves just don't see him coming back to the capital anytime soon

Some time in the AHL to rediscover his game might not be the worst of ideas. Though I do think he can still find a place on some team
