Ebay advice needed...

Hi guys

I just sold my Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Cup ARP #/99 on ebay, however, the winner has zero feedbacks, and he just created his account today, Jan 23, 2013....

I tried to contact him, but with no luck so far...

He's in the Houston area, and his phone number is listed with his address when I sent him an invoice.

What do you guys think? Should I call him and make sure the transaction is okay? Or should I give him a few more days first?

Give him the benefit of doubt until he proves otherwise.
I know you may be skeprical but don't we all start somewhere and most times at 0

Well,

I would only send to a verified paypal address on something like that.. When you do ship make sure its fully insured and tracked. For sure I would use Fed Ex or UPS.

When I get a high sale I wait on mailing for a few days after payment has been received. I figured if its a bad sale then that would give a bit of time for them to catch it.

But I do agree, we all started out some where. Unless you see a red flag, treat it like a normal sale.

As long as you send with tracking and signature required, you should be covered by Ebay if the transaction goes bad. I'm not sure what calling the person will do. If it's a scam I doubt they will admit to it in a simple phone call.

I don't see this going smoothly. Hopefully he pays you and all goes well, but I just don't see someone with zero feedback buying a card that expensive.

After dropping that kind of dough on a card you would think he would be sending you the messages on it.... You never know maybe he just can't find one in his area. Hope it goes smooth.

Nothing so far, no payment, no response, just no hope.... I guess will just have to relist the card again... I hate to do it, but I guess I will have to restrict people with 0 feedbacks to bid on my auctions again..

Will have to wait for a few days first I guess, probably need to open up a case, get it resolved (get the final sale value back) then try the second chance offer..

Did ebay charge you final sale value fees two times? or did they credit you back the fees for the first transaction?

To get your fees back from the other sale, you'll then need to open a case which you can only do a few days after end of auction I believe

Well, as expected, got this from ebay just now:

I can't even find my listing to send out a 2nd chance offer, or relist the item.....

With big ticket sales like that if I see a bidder with 0 feedback and someone who just opened an account within a few days, I tend to cancel those bids ASAP. The key is to watch the bids.

He bid on the last few seconds... nothing much I could do about that.

At least you don't have to wait to cancel the transaction to get your fees back. Strange that you can't find the listing though to make the 2nd chance offer (if you wanted to try that route).
