Verified Trader,
Hey, need some opinions from you guys.
Recently I purchased a BGS graded card on ebay, the description just stated what I'm bidding (13-14 upper deck ice Premieres rc XXXX BGS 9.5) but without any other info provided. The scan looks perfectly fine and since it's a graded card so I went ahead and submitted an offer. The seller accepted the offer and charged $8.75 for shipping (within Canada). After a few days, I contacted the seller and asked him to provide tracking info (since he charged $8.75 for shipping), he replied and said he only shipped it out thru regular mail. After a few emails back and forth, he promised to refund me $5 when the card arrives.
The card arrives today, however, there is a small crack found on the case near the Beckett label. I messaged the seller right away with a couple pictures of the crack and asked for additional partial refund on top of the $5 he promised to send back.
He replied and said he does not sell damaged cards and he's not in charge of transport (I mentioned that the case could got damaged during transit). He asked me to send back the card by regular mail and he will cancel the sale and refund the money to me.
Firstly I wouldn't send a high value card (200+) thru regular mail, I think that's ridiculous. Secondly, that's nothing wrong with the card itself and it's a card that I would like to keep. What would you guys do?? Thanks.
