''After careful consideration, we’ve decided to retire the 1% earnings reward on everyday purchases starting April 1st, 2021. The good news is, you will continue to receive bonus Bucks offers, so you can keep earning.''

What are your thoughts on that? I think it pushed a lot of people of buying more on Ebay so not sure this is good news for seller.

I think so. They are probably having a record year in sales so they must think they don't need to give as much as they used to but it won't always be like that. That's a risky move in my opinion..

So they're going to ditch the 1%, but do periodic offers?

I'm guessing that eBay has crunched the numbers.... and they don't think that the 1% does much to boost sales.

Not too surprising, the bonus ebucks offers have been declining over the last while. They probably see millions go out of their coffers every quarter, and during a time where online buying is at an all-time high, figured it was not needed to promote sales. I must say, there were a few card purchase I made that I probably wouldn't have if there were no ebuck special at the time. I'll be disappointed to see it go, but it hasn't been as lucrative for me as it used to be given the decline in offers. I think eBAy will survive without it.

I got it as well... I usually saved mine up to get “something fun” but if I read it correctly... whatever crumbs they are going to toss us... has a 12 month expiry date...

No competetion and they are raking in the money. Sports/Trading cards are their #1 seller and no need to incentivize the market. Even their bonus bucks have decreased. A couple of years ago, they would offer 8% or even 10%. Now, the best you will see is 5%.

I keep hearing this but unless something changed recently, trading cards aren't even close to their #1 seller. It's not even in their top 10

I'm going to miss the ebay bucks program, can't lie. It was always nice to receive a small coupon off every few months. Here's to hoping they'll have more sports cards discounts in the future!

Absolutely. eBay might be the #1 forum for sportscards selling tho.
