What's the etiquette for shipping redemption cards on eBay? Do they need to be in top loaders/sleeve/team bag... are people comfortable if I charge free shipping and just send them the serial # via email... or is it best i just ship it like any other card.

I, personally, dont see why you would need to waste your materials' (the loader, sleeve, bubble mailer, etc) for a redemption ... the code on that card is what you are coveting and as long as you can read the #s than no problems ... just my .02 - thanks, erik

What I would do is, if they want the code, THEY will ask you.
If not, then don't waste your time on them.

You know, it really depends on preference. A lot of people who buy higher end cards prefer to have the redemption card in hand, in which case you'd treat and ship it like any other card in the world.

If I'm charging people the same amount to ship a redemption as I am a regular card, I feel obligated to ship/treat it the same way I would a regular card.

On the other side of the coin, there are some people who prefer to have the serial messaged to them after they've paid because they don't care about having the redemption card in hand.

To make a long story short...I'd lay out your ground rules in-auction. Personally, I would offer both options.

I have won a few redemption's before and both times the sellers have CALLED me with the redemption code. I like this option the best, but email would have been just as nice. No need to waste money and packages to ship a redemption card. They have no value in the long run.

I think choice is important too... Some people like to have that white piece of cardboard in hand.

I always give the choice as well. Why pay and waste bubble mailer/toploader/teambag on a redemption? Plus, if you e-mail the code, they get it the same day! :)

when ever i buy cards that are redemptions i request if i can pay no shipping and ask them to send me serial number...and they have so far on all redemptions i bought off ebay.

Sounds good guys. I was kinda confused about it when I was writing up my auctions. I've heard of people leaving bad comments in their feedback because the card was shipped without a top loader

As a buyer I prefer to get the code emailed to me so I can skip the s/h and even more so not worry about the card being lost in the mail. This way I get the code and can immediately enter it into the UD system and then I leave feedback immediately too.

I'll echo the thoughts of others. It's all personal preference. I prefer to have the code emailed to me to avoid any waiting time on shipping. I'll let UD make me wait a few months rather than the seller.
