Hey all,

I don't sell too often on eBay but I might have a little problem. Someone used BIN on my auction and won it on the 28th of October... two weeks ago tomorrow. He hadn't paid after a week so I send him another invoice. Still no word a few days later, so I send him a very polite message saying "hi, card is ready to ship. just awaiting payment." Buyer has yet to respond to anything. I was wondering how long people wait for someone to pay for a card? One of my problems is that I didn't state in the auction when I expect payment. I know I should do that, but when there is no expected time period, what is the norm? I pay for my auctions a few hours later AT THE LATEST when I win things on eBay. Am I being irrational and impatient or should I contact eBay soon? Help is much appreciated!

Exactly file the NPB. It gives him another chance to pay if he has been busy or not around. If he chooses not to pay at least you get reimbursed and you can try again.

Sorry for the double post... but on the auction I clicked on report an unpaid item... I'm at the screen where it says "open a case." Is this what I do? Thanks very much for the help!

Yep that's what you do. He doesn't really have a leg to stand on as far as leaving you a negative feedback, so don't let that enter your thoughts. The commonly-accepted standard for payment is 7-10 days, and if he's not responded to multiple requests from you, it looks all the worse on him.

IF you've given him 2 weeks then that's more than reasonable amount of time.

I don't know if this is common but I've known ppl who hold off on paying until their credit card statement closes so that it will show up on their following month's statement

or there is also good old buyer's remorse which is keeping the buyer from making prompt payment. In which case a reminder (friendly or otherwise) usually does the trick.

I am sure many of us have felt this buyer's remorse. I know I sure have. ;)
