eBay Powerseller Status

I just got an e-mail from eBay that I now qualify for Powerseller status. I've sold a ton of things in the past 3 months, which is why I probably qualify now.

Should I bother joining this "elite group" knowing that I cannot maintain the selling levels on a go forward basis? Or should I just stick with "the common folk"? :D

Do you need to maintain a certain level of selling. I believe being a powerseller is based on your feedback, that the amount of items you sell each month.
 
Congrats on being a power seller. It isn't easy to do.

you have to do at least $1000us in sales a month to be a power seller.

IMO it isn't worth joining if you can't don't think you can keep doing it. The benefits to it are really not that great. I am a Silver Power Seller doing $3000us a month in sales and all I get is a phone number incase I need to talk to someone at Ebay WHOOOPEEEE!!

Honestly, you kind of spelled out my thoughts on the matter. Didn't think there was anything really to it... just a dedicated phone number.
 
you only get the dedicated phone number if you do the $3000. The BRONZE which is what you were offered gets 24/7 email support.. And the shiny logo is only good if your feedback is good. I mean why would I buy from a guy that is a power seller with with 2000 feedback BUT they have 30-40 Negtives. I would rather buy from the guy with 35 feedback with no negatives.

I'm currently at 831 (100%). *knock on wood* :D
 
How long have you been on the Bay selling. I have been doing it for 6 years now and I am at 5600 positive feedbacks and 9 of those dreaded negatives. Mainly for reasons out of my control. I got most of them while I was in the hospital for 3 weeks a few years back :mad:

Been on eBay since 1998. Only about 1/3 of my feedback is through selling, though. I'm more of a buyer... but sell in bunches when they have listing fee sales and such.
 
In all honesty I avoid power sellers when it comes to hockey cards, they're the ones who usually ship in white envelopes and do nothing when the card arrives damaged. They also never respond to questions about shipping prior to the auction end.
