eBay problem - Need your help

Hi,

earlier today, I won a VERY nice Brandon Gormley 3 colors GU /40 for my PC. I was really happy with this buy, since I payed the card 4,95 $ and the BIN was at 25 $.

A few hours ago, I realized that my payment have been refunded via Paypal. I contact the seller to know what's going on. Here is his answer:

I apologize for the refund but I have been getting screwed with Ebay buyers and sellers.

My cards all sell for minimal amounts and then the same cards from power sellers always get top dollar. As the case today where a similar card like this one sold for over $20.00
I have been in contact with Ebay and they said to let them know of the auctions and sellers that may be doing this and it would also be ok to refund your money.
Hopefully yo u are not to upset.
Please understand and know that I never do this to buyers but it just bothers me to give cards away almost for free.

So, what is the problem here. Now, eBay let sellers refund their sold item if they don't get good price for it? Is this system completely screwed or what?

Right now, I am very mad :badmood:

My first tought was to leave a juicy neg to the seller and contact eBay to open a dispute. But I want to know what you think of the situation first, since your input is always very instructive.

I would contact ebay and let them know what happened. Just because he didn't get what he wanted does not give him the right to refund your money back.
 
If he's unwilling to do the right thing and sell you the card, I'd say give him a neg. He didn't have a reserve on the card, so that's how it goes. I just listed two cards today that I won't sell for less than a certain amount, so I put reserves on them. He should have done the same.
 
I would do as some others have suggested and contact Ebay. I have always understood that once the sale is final it is a legal contract to be honoured by both sides. See what Ebay says and tell the seller your are angry and expect him to follow through with the sale. If he doesnt like the low amount his cards are selling for that is what a reserve or BIN are for. Sorry about his luck. And if you dont get the card for what the final bid was the leave a bid bad negative for him explaining why you left it. Just my opinion though.

I would attempt reason and if that doesn't work leave a negative for them. In the seller's defense, at least he manned up to it instead of playing the "whoopsie, lost in the mail, here's your refund..." game. Tell him it is not worth $15 for a negative...live and learn.
 
i had something similar happen as the seller and he just needs to bend over and take it. I sold a card for 70 the idiot decided not to pay so after 2 weeks i re-listed it. It sold for 10 the second time. I wanted to do what the seller did but its unethical. I knew the risks of an auction style sale and so does he. Try to reason with him if not neg him.
 
I will sound like a broken record and say neg that seller. I think we have all at one time or another sold cards on Ebay for steals. No excuse!

I am sorry but if it means I get kicked out of ebay then that is the chance I will take.

I told ebay that I will issue a refund in place of sending the card and they answered it would be ok. If I accepted payment and then not sent the card, then that would be a violation of rules.

I will try to get the eBay word on this later today. It will be my first dispute. Don't know how it will end...
 
This is the EXACT purpose for negative feedback. If you don't leave it, then buyers will never know what this seller might do if they win his auctions. It is absolutely NECESSARY for you to leave the neg and explain why
